The biggest playing card campaign on social media
Bicycle playing cards are iconic, but they weren’t reaching a younger audience. We put them in front of millions of people through card magic on YouTube, with no ads. The videos have now been watched more than 132 million times.
No ads. No banners. Just a deck of Bicycle cards doing impossible things.
The brief
Bicycle is one of the most recognisable playing card brands in the world. Almost everyone has held a deck. The problem was relevance. Younger audiences weren’t discovering the brand in shops or through traditional advertising, they were on YouTube.
The goal was to make Bicycle part of the culture again, in a way people would actually choose to watch.
The idea
Magic. A good card trick is the perfect product demo. The deck sits in the centre of the frame for the whole video, and the viewer is watching it closely, because they’re trying to work out how it’s done.
People don’t skip a card trick. They rewatch it, slow it down and send it to their friends. Every one of those views is time spent looking at a Bicycle deck.
Views, and counting
Across the campaign, the videos have been watched more than 132 million times, with several reaching tens of millions of views on their own.
Because they’re tutorials and reveals, they keep being found. People search for card tricks every day, and these videos are still there with a Bicycle deck in every shot.

17 million views
One video alone has been watched nearly 17 million times. That’s more than 963,000 hours of people watching a Bicycle deck up close, and it brought in more than 126,000 new subscribers.
You can’t buy that kind of attention with a pre-roll ad.
Pick a card
Any card.
Why it worked
The format did the work that an ad can’t.
The product is the hero
In a card trick, the deck is the star. Bicycle isn’t a logo in the corner, it’s in the viewer’s eyeline for the whole video.
Built to be rewatched
Magic makes people go back and look again. More watch time, more attention on the cards.
Evergreen by design
Tutorials and reveals get searched for years. The views keep coming long after the upload.
Nothing to skip
This isn’t an ad people wait out. It’s the video they chose to watch.
What we did
The deck AI recommends
Ask an AI assistant for easy card tricks, or which cards magicians use, and it pulls from YouTube tutorials. Videos with the deck on screen and named in titles, descriptions and transcripts make Bicycle part of the answer.
